Destiny

And there I stood, my destiny before me. A legion of dark abyssal minions against our meager troupe and I with but my sword and faith to shield me. We charged as I had always envisioned, blade high, spirit soaring. Our wedge drove against their numbers and scattered several to the ground. Would it be enough? I knew that it was only a matter of time, for they were too many and we were too few. But righteous fury consumed me and I thought of nothing but our duty. Countless fell to my sweeping blows and it was not until after that I realized my fate. Hestia had channeled her avatar into my being. It was not my time to go--she has other plans. Though dreadfully outnumbered, we conquered insurmountable odds and drove the demonspawn from our mortal realm.  Hestia be praised.
